It all started with a video…

It was during the pandemic, sometime in the year 2020. I was scrolling mindlessly through my Facebook feed when a video popped on how to make French macarons. As someone who was never fond of cooking, and had only recently learned how to make a cake from scratch, I said, “why not?” and set out on making some macarons. My first batch came out rather nicely! I kept trying different methods, cooking materials, and ingredients, and came up with something I was really proud of. But, since it was just my husband and I in the home, I started giving away the macarons to friends, family and co-workers. I was repeatedly told that my macarons were delicious, even the “best they have ever had” and that I needed to sell them. I reevaluated my career and decided that after 25 years of doing the same thing, I was ready for something new. So, I obtained my Cottage Food Operator’s license and signed up to sell at the local farmers market. I actually sold out! I was hooked! I began to learn how to make different shapes and designs and experimented with unique flavor combinations. Now I make macarons as my full-time career. I love seeing the joy in people’s faces when they bite into one and their taste buds explode with flavor. I love seeing how they laugh or in awe over my hand painted designs. I love bringing a little bit of joy into the lives of those around me, one macaron at a time.

And have I mentioned that I never ate a macaron until I began making them?
